2. Our role as a marketplace

Venir is a marketplace. The experiences and products on venir.pt are offered by independent local operators and sellers (“Partners”). When you make a booking or an order, we share the details needed to fulfil it with the relevant Partner, who then also processes your data as an independent controller for providing their service. Each Partner is responsible for how they handle your data once they receive it.

  • Booking and order data: the experiences or products you book or buy, dates, number of participants, delivery address, special requests and booking history.
  • Payment data: payments are processed by our payment provider [payment provider, e.g. Stripe]. We do not store your full card details; we receive only confirmation of payment and limited information such as the last digits of the card.
  • Billing data: name, tax number (NIF) and address when you request an invoice.
  • Messages: the content of messages you send to Partners or to us through the platform.

  • Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited and similar data collected through cookies and server logs.

4. Why we use your data and on what legal basis

  • To provide our service: create and manage your account, process bookings and orders, take payments, send confirmations and let you communicate with Partners. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
  • To meet legal obligations: issue invoices, keep accounting records and respond to requests from authorities. Legal basis: legal obligation.
  • To keep the platform safe: prevent fraud and abuse, moderate reviews and listings and secure our systems. Legal basis: our legitimate interest.
  • To improve Venir: understand how the site is used and fix problems. Legal basis: our legitimate interest or, where cookies are involved, your consent.
  • To send you news and offers: only if you have agreed to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email. Legal basis: consent.

5. Who we share your data with

  • Partners: the operator or seller you book with receives the data needed to provide the experience or ship the product.
  • Service providers acting on our behalf, including our hosting provider (Hostinger), our payment provider, email delivery services and Google Maps (to show listing locations).
  • Authorities, when we are legally required to do so.

We do not sell your personal data.

Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. When this happens, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.

6. How long we keep your data

  • Account data: for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we delete or anonymise it, except where we must keep it for the reasons below.
  • Booking, order and billing records: for 10 years, as required by Portuguese tax and accounting law.
  • Messages and reviews: for as long as your account is active, or until you delete them.
  • Marketing preferences: until you withdraw your consent.
  • Technical logs: for a limited period, normally no longer than 12 months.

7. Cookies

We use cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to work, such as keeping you logged in, remembering your language and keeping items in your cart. With your consent, we may also use cookies for statistics and to show maps. You can accept or reject non-essential cookies through the cookie banner and change your choice at any time. You can also block cookies in your browser settings, although some parts of the site may then stop working.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • ask us to delete your data;
  • restrict or object to certain processing, including direct marketing;
  • receive your data in a portable format;
